ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID 300 WEST STREET MAINTENANCE PROJECT WASHINGTON TERRACE CITY CORPORATION RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be received at Washington Terrace City Hall, 5249 S. South Pointe Dr., Washington Terrace, Utah until 2:00 p.m. on March 15, 2012 for the WASHINGTON TERRACE CITY 300 WEST STREET MAINTENANCE PROJECT. At which time, bids will be opened publicly. All contractors must be Pre-Qualified for construction within Washington Terrace. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work will consist of 9,820 s.y. of milling bituminous surface and disposal, 2,690 s.y of removal and disposal of asphalt, 1,525 tons of bituminous surface course, 100 tons of leveling course, 370 l.f. of removal and replacement of curb & gutter, 15 catch basins, 4 - 5 ' diameter manholes, 465 l.f. of 15 " RCP, and 240 l.f. of 21 " RCP. All work shall be completed by June 30, 2012. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The work is located on 300 West from Ridgeline Drive (5500 South) to 5000 South in WASHINGTON TERRACE City, Utah. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, and contractor pre-qualification form may be obtained at the office of the Engineer, Jones and Associates, 1716 E. 5600 S., Ogden, Utah, upon application and payment of a $30.00 fee. Plans will be available February 23rd. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to WASHINGTON TERRACE City Corporation as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of worker 's compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of 20 calendar days from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidder 's shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. OWNER 'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner. CONTRACTOR PRE-QUALIFICATION: All contractors must be pre-qualified in order to bid on city projects. Approval of qualifications is valid for a period 2 year after approval. Contractors who have not submitted a pre-qualification form to the City 48 hours prior to the bid opening time, shall not be permitted to submit a bid.
