Project Plain City Corporation RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be accepted at the Offices of Wasatch Civil Consulting Engineering, 5320 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah, 84067, until 2:00 p.m. on April 18th, 2012 , for the Town Square Park Bowery C.D.B.G. Project for Plain City Corporation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of the construction of a 1,620 square foot bowery building that includes restrooms, a covered eating area, utility connections and all other associated work in accordance with the Contract Documents. LOCATION OF WORK: The work is located at approximately 4419 West 2425 North in Plain City, Utah. COMPLETION OF WORK: All work specified in the contract documents shall be completed within 60 days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. OPENING OF BIDS: Bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 at the aforementioned offices of Wasatch Civil Consulting Engineering. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents may be obtained upon application and payment of a $30.00 non-refundable fee at the office of Wasatch Civil Consulting Engineering, 5320 South 1950 West, Suite 1, Roy City, Utah. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, made payable to Plain City Corporation as guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of Workers Compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of two weeks from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. OWNERS RIGHTS RESERVED: Plain City Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City. FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS: This project is partially funded through a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The Contractor shall be required to comply with all federal labor standards and attendant laws, including the payment of the most current Davis-Bacon wages and compliance with Section 3 to provide employment opportunities for lower income persons. Local, minority and women owned firms are invited to bid. The lowest responsible bidder will be selected.
