PUBLIC NOTICE All former workers in Field Accounting services for Hostess Brands, Inc., including workers whose Unemployment Insurance wages were reported through Interstate Brands Corporation including on-site Leased workers from Resources Global International, Ranstad Finance & Accounting (formerly known as Accountants, Int 'l) and Manpower Direct Source, Ogden, Utah have recently been approved by the Department of Labor to apply for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance (RTAA) under the Trade Adjustment Assistance Extension Act of 2011 according to Bill Starks, Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program Director with the Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS). Trade Act benefits are available to workers who have been laid off totally or partially separated on or after February 13, 2010 through January 25, 2014. Affected workers may qualify for training, job search, and relocation allowances even if they do not qualify for Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA). Affected workers over 50 years of age may choose the RTAA program. This is a subsidy for re-employment wages that are less than the former trade affected wage. To receive TRA (income support payments), workers must meet the enrollment requirements or have a waiver and worked at least 26 weeks within a 52 week period and earned $30 or more a week. Inquire with the TRA Unit at the DWS UI Claims Center to obtain more specific information. Trade Act also provides for a Health Coverage Tax Credit program (HCTC) for qualified individuals who meet the TRA requirements. Eligible individuals may receive a tax credit on their year-end taxes or may receive 72.5% of the monthly portion of the health care premiums paid to qualified plans.
