ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID 1550 EAST STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT South Ogden City Corporation RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be accepted at the Office of South Ogden City Municipal Office, 3950 South Adams Avenue, South Ogden, Utah, 84403, until 2:00 p.m. on August 8th, 2013, for the 1550 East South Street Improvement Project for South Ogden City Corporation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of reconstruction 5,360 s.y. of road surface including: removal of existing asphalt and road base; installation and compaction of new untreated base course and hot mix asphalt; pre-lowering and raising manholes and valve boxes; and removal and replacement of 270 l.f. of curb and gutter, 700 l.f. of concrete sidewalk and 8 pedestrian access ramps. The work performed shall also consist of furnishing and constructing all other related items and appurtenances as directed in the Contract Documents. LOCATION OF WORK: The work is located on 1550 East Street between Highway 89 and 6150 South Street (Skyline Drive) in South Ogden City. COMPLETION OF WORK: All work specified in the Contract Documents shall be completed within 30 days following the Notice to Proceed. OPENING OF BIDS: Bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at the aforementioned office of the South Ogden City Municipal Building. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Wasatch Civil Consulting Engineering, 5434 South Freeway Park Drive, Riverdale, Utah upon application and payment of a $30.00 non-refundable fee. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, made payable to South Ogden City Corporation as guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of two weeks from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract.
