ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID DOREN DRIVE CULINARY WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT South Ogden City Corporation RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be accepted at the Office of the South Ogden City, 3950 South Adams Avenue, South Ogden City, Utah, 84403, until 2:00 p.m. on July 18th, 2013, for the Doren Drive Culinary Waterline Replacement Project for South Ogden City Corporation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of constructing approximately 2,800 l.f. of 8 " Class 51 Ductile Iron water pipe within existing City streets. The work also includes: the installation of main line valves and fittings; fire hydrants replacement; removal and replacement of approximately 39 existing water services; compaction; import trench backfill; asphalt trench repair; and all other related appurtenances and associated work as indicated in the Contract Documents. LOCATION OF WORK: The work is located in residential streets along Doren Drive and Burch Creek Drive in South Ogden City, Utah. COMPLETION OF WORK: All work specified in the contract documents shall be completed within 45 days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. OPENING OF BIDS: Bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18th, 2013 at the aforementioned office of South Ogden City. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Wasatch Civil Consulting Engineering, 5434 South Freeway Park Drive, Riverdale, Utah, upon application and payment of a $30.00 non-refundable fee. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, made payable to South Ogden City Corporation as guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of Worker 's Compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of two weeks from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract.
