2013 STREET PROJECTS FRUIT HEIGHTS CITY CORPORATION RECEIPT AND OPENING OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be received at the office of the engineer, Jones & Associates, at 1716 E. 5600 S. South Ogden, Utah until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 for the FRUIT HEIGHTS CITY CORPORATION 2013 STREET PROJECTS. At which time, bids will be opened publicly. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work will consist of the following Schedules: Schedule "A " Nicholls Road Schedule "B " Hidden Valley Realignment and Safe Sidewalk Schedule "C " Cherry Hill Entrance Schedules "D " & "E " Street Maintenance Projects Schedules A and B consist of complete street reconstruction; including new curb, gutter, sidewalk, ADA ramps, grading, retaining walls, fencing and asphalt pavement, with storm drain lines (RCP piping), manholes, inlet boxes, and minor water and irrigation lines with valves (PVC C-900). Schedule C consists of the reconstruction of a driveway entrance and includes new curb, gutter, ADA ramps, inlet box and asphalt pavement. Schedules D and E consist of streets to receive Chip & Seal and Crack Seal. LOCATION OF THE WORK: Work is located on a portion of Nicholls Road (between US-89 and Main Street), at the intersection of Hidden Valley Drive and Main Street, at the driveway entrance to Cherry Hill on Main Street and at various other locations throughout Fruit Heights City, Utah. COMPLETION OF THE WORK: All work covered by the contract documents shall be completed by the dates listed below following Notice to Proceed for the listed schedules: Schedule "A " Nicholls Road Oct. 31, 2013 Schedule "B " Hidden Valley Realignment and Safe Sidewalk Oct. 31, 2013 Schedule "C " Cherry Hill Entrance Aug 15, 2013 Schedules "D " & "E " Street Maintenance Projects Aug 31, 2013 OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be obtained at the office of the Engineer, Jones and Associates, 1716 E. 5600 S., South Ogden, Utah, upon application and payment of a $50.00 non-refundable fee. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to Fruit Heights City Corporation as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of worker 's compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of 30 calendar days from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidder 's shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. OWNER 'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for the total project or by individual schedule, to waive an informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner.
