ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID ADAMS AVENUE UTILITY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT WASHINGTON TERRACE CITY CORPORATION RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be received at the Washington Terrace City Offices, 5249 S. South Pointe Dr., Washington Terrace, Utah, until 2:00 pm on June 26, 2013 for the ADAMS AVENUE UTILITY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of approximately 3,100 l.f. of 10 " C900 PVC waterline construction, including valves, a 10 " meter station, and flow control valve vault; and approximately 565 l.f. of 10 " and 375 l.f. of 8 " PVC sewer main reconstruction including manholes and tie-ins. Work also includes asphalt and surface improvement restoration. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The work is located at Adams Avenue between Washington Boulevard and 5600 South in Washington Terrace City, Utah. COMPLETION OF THE WORK: All work covered by the contract documents shall be completed on or before October 1, 2013. OPENING OF BIDS: The bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 pm on June 26, 2013 at the above mentioned Washington Terrace City Offices, 5249 S. South Pointe Dr., Washington Terrace, Utah. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be obtained at the office of the Engineer: Jones and Associates, 1716 East 5600 South, South Ogden, Utah; upon application and payment of a $30.00 non-refundable fee. Contract documents will be available on June 14th, 2013. The contract documents are also published at www.jonescivil.com and are for bidding reference only. All contractors who plan to bid on any project as a general contractor must obtain, in person or by mail, an original set of plans and pay the associated fee as stated above. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to WASHINGTON TERRACE CITY CORPORATION as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of Worker 's Compensation Insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of 25 calendar days from the date of opening of bids to the award of contract may be required. Bidder 's shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. OWNER 'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive an informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner. CONTRACTOR PRE-QUALIFICATION: All contractors must be pre-qualified in order to bid on city projects. Approval of qualifications is valid for a period 2 years after approval.
