ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID MAIN STREET WATERLINE LOOP PROJECT FRUIT HEIGHTS CITY RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids will be received at the office of Jones and Associates, 1716 East 5600 South, until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012, for the Main Street Waterline Loop Project. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project consists of installing new 8 " DIP and PVC waterline along Main Street (SR-273) and connecting two existing waterlines. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The work is located along Main Street (SR-273) by the Davis County Golf Course in Fruit Heights City. COMPLETION OF THE WORK: The completion of work covered by the contract documents shall be completed within 45 days following Notice to Proceed. All asphalt work will need to be completed before October 15th. OPENING OF BIDS: The bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the above mentioned office of Jones and Associates, 1716 East 5600 South, South Ogden, UT 84403. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be obtained at the office of the Engineer; Jones and Associates, 1716 East 5600 South, South Ogden, Utah; upon application and payment of a $30.00 non-refundable fee. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier 's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to FRUIT HEIGHTS CITY as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of worker 's compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price. AWARD OF CONTRACT: All contractors submitting a proposal will be required to provide experience and references for at least 3 projects of similar scope and size completed within the last 10 years. Contract will be awarded based on experience, references and cost. WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD: A waiting period of 60 calendar days from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidder 's shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal " products be considered for approval prior to award of contract.
